In diesem Buch wird der Frage nach kollektiver Identität und Zugehörigkeit der BewohnerInnen des alpinen Raumes nachgegangen. Der Bezug zwischen Mensch und Umfeld bzw. Zwischen Stadt und Landschaft wird in Form von fotografischen Inszenierungen, Fotografien, Collagen, Grafiken und Texten untersucht.

Vulcania zieht uns in eine fiktive Welt vor unserer Haustür, die in Bezugnahme auf die Vergangenheit wichtige Themen unserer realen heutigen Welt berührt.

In this book, the question of the collective identity and affiliation of the inhabitants of the Alpine region is investigated. The relationship between people and their surroundings or between city and landscape is examined.

With the creation of a completely new species that may have been populating the area for longer than humans, Nicole Weniger takes the assumption of a distinctive Tyrolean “primeval nature” to absurdity in her project. Vulcania is a collection of photographs, collages, graphics and texts by the authors Martin Fritz, Francesca Menges and Linnea Streit.
